Far away from where i live, there lives a person, many persons actually.
But one person’s life makes me think often about the meaning of life.
That person’s called Tina.
Tina, now in her second half of life grew up as a daughter of an entrepreneur. He built up his own factory and soon to come factories. He was proud to say that he built everything from the stretch by his own two hands. His hard work followed success – success followed misery.
He was so into working, he did not care about his health very much. But health – our body – always talks to us, only we do not care to listen, we call “him” to shut up and get on going with the real important work. Well… what if the body is not willing anymore to get shut out? Who’s going to do the “real important work” then? After all… as long as we are on earth, we are bound to that one body we are born in. First story: Lately I walked into a sport store when I recognized an elderly westerner man. He was with hands and feet trying to communicate with the store staff. His eyes started to sparkle when he saw me. “Excuse me… do you speak Japanese?” – “a bit, how can I help you?” He started to talked about his life, his cycling holidays on Shikoku and the intense rain that poured over him. “You know… there is no bad weather – there is only bad gear!” he smiled at me.
Second story: Another day I walked into a temple, on Shikoku Island, a temple that is on the “henro route” the pilgrimage of the 88 temples. 3 elderly ladies sat behind a table, offering apple juice, oranges and self made onigiri (rice balls) to the pilgrims. It was so touching to see their sparkling passion, I had to asked them what they do. One of the ladies told me: “You know, I am not able to do the pilgrimage myself anymore, but giving food and drinks to those who do the pilgrimage makes me feel as if I myself would walk it.” Read the rest of this entry »

if everything is made out of universal energy – then all is the same – all is one.
if all is one – then everything we do is – broken down – one and the same thing put in to different contexts. Read the rest of this entry »

Do you remember John Lennon’s song?
“People say I’m crazy doing what I’m doing
Well they give me all kinds of warnings to save me from ruin
When I say that I’m o.k. well they look at me kind of strange
Surely you’re not happy now you no longer play the game Read the rest of this entry »

at the end of the day do you ask yourself, how much time did I put on something that didn’t serve me – or – that used to serve me but does not anymore – or – that actually harmed me – or – that distinctively did not nourish me?
do you also ask yourself, what or who captures your attention, what or who keeps nagging in your mind, where you place your energy, whom you share your attention with and whom you don’t?
